BUS INFORMATION

• All children to be at pick-up point, ready for the bus FIVE minutes before pick-up times.
• Children are to remain in their seats while the bus is in motion.
• No eating or drinking on the bus.
• No shouting or swearing on the bus.
• Good behaviour is requested at all times.
• Children must stay on the side of the road after getting off and wait until the bus is two power poles away before crossing the road. If there are no power poles children are to wait until the bus is a safe distance away before crossing. If your child is under the age of 7 years, we recommend that a parent be there before the bus arrives.
• Any damage by children to the bus, will be reported to the school and paid for by the parents of the children involved.
• Unless the children are at the gate by the appropriate time, it will be assumed the children do not require a ride to school.
• Pupils will be notified if there is any alterations to the timetable.
• Any complaints should be addressed to the school principal not the bus driver.
• Parents and all vehicle drivers are reminded that the maximum speed when passing a stationary school bus is 20 kph.  We require the support of all road users to prevent accidents.
• If your child is not on the bus a particular day we ask that you ring the appropriate bus driver and let them know.

In the Event of a Bus Breakdown in the Morning:

Please notify the school immediately.  Ph.431 7851. 

The school will then advise parent contacts of the situation

and they will ring the families on their list to inform them

of the procedure for getting the children to school. 

In the Event of a Bus Breakdown in the Afternoon:

Please notify the school immediately.  Ph.431 7851.

The school will then attempt to contact all families

to advise them of the situation. 

In the event of the unavailability of the parents, transport home for those children will be organised with the parents and staff available at that time. 

As a safety precaution should this occur parents are requested to

complete the form below giving permission for their children

to be transported home with either an available parent or staff member.

Please Note: Cellphone contact will be tried

and a message left if parents are unable

to be contacted by phone.

 In the event of school closure:

Notice will be given on local radio stations and the school will attempt to contact all families via the same procedure as for Bus Breakdowns. Listen to local radio stations for information.

Please also be aware that phone contact to the school may be difficult due to the line being used to contact parents, at that time.
